Seller's Description

World Audio Design 25T Excel Floorstanding Loudspeakers World Audio Design 25T floorstanding loudspeakers.    These speakers, sold as a kit, were designed by Peter Comeau who created leading designs for Mission, Heybrook, Wharfdale, Quad and others and  is currently Director of Audio Design for the huge International Audio Group  The speakers use a SEAS 10" bass/mid driver and SEAS HF unit from the high end Excel line. It uses a split crossover so either loudspeaker cable with 4 connectors or bridging links will be needed for connection. Only the HF unit is from the Excel line, not the mid bas

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This is well inside the normal used range and looks like a solid buy at A$200. Against your database anchor, it sits below the median A$286 and just above the 25th percentile A$122, so it reads as a good-value listing rather than a premium ask.

What makes it worth a look is the usual Mission/WAD appeal: a lively, engaging floorstander with a reputation for good musical timing and a pleasingly full presentation for the money. If the cabinets are clean, the drivers are original, and the crossovers haven’t been tampered with, there’s real upside here for a buyer wanting proper hi-fi sound without spending much more than entry-level money.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Mission

Mission Electronics, a British hi-fi icon, was founded in 1977 by Farad Azima in the UK, rapidly emerging as a pioneer in acoustic engineering. Azima, a former audio importer and distributor, infused the brand with innovative drive, launching the revolutionary Mission 770 loudspeaker in 1978—the world's first with a commercial polypropylene bass unit. This debut set benchmarks for clarity and bass response, propelling Mission to prominence amid the golden era of British hi-fi.

The brand excels in loudspeakers across sectors, from seminal 1970s and 1980s models like the 770 to high-end masterpieces such as the 2001 Pilastro, Elegante, and SX series. Under Peter Comeau's acoustic leadership since 1999, Mission has expanded into hi-fi electronics, including amplifiers and home cinema systems, while maintaining an engineering-first ethos. Now part of the International Audio Group since 2005, with production in Shenzhen, it leverages advanced manufacturing for components like cables and turntable ancillaries, though speakers remain its core strength.

Mission holds mid-to-high-end status, revered by discerning buyers for award-winning performance—What Hi-Fi? Best Loudspeaker (2000, 2001), EISA Speaker of the Year (2001, 2003)—and timeless appeal. A management buyout refined its retail focus, positioning it as a reliable benchmark against pricier rivals, blending heritage innovation with accessible excellence for serious audiophiles.
