Campfire Audio emerged from the legacy of ALO Audio, founded in 2009 by Ken Ball in Portland, Oregon. Building on ALO's reputation for premium audio cables, Campfire Audio launched as a dedicated in-ear monitor (IEM) brand in summer 2015 with its debut trio: Jupiter, Orion, and Lyra. Hand-assembled in their Portland workshop, the brand embodies American craftsmanship, drawing inspiration from the Pacific Northwest's landscapes in its distinctive faceted metal shells.
The company specializes exclusively in high-end wired IEMs, eschewing amplifiers, speakers, or other categories. Their lineup spans over 45 models since inception, featuring multi-driver balanced armature designs like the iconic Andromeda—first released in 2016 with five drivers for a natural, expansive soundstage—and evolutions such as the ten-driver Andromeda 10. Precision tuning and material innovation define their approach, catering to diverse sound signatures.
Campfire Audio commands a elite position in the boutique IEM market, revered as a top-tier innovator for audiophiles seeking reference-level detail and aesthetics. Standouts like Andromeda and Trifecta have cemented their status among the world's finest, with unwavering build quality and performance earning trust from discerning hi-fi enthusiasts worldwide.
