This coverage protects both you, the buyer, and me, the seller, against loss or damage during shipment. And, I never sell ANY of my items "As-Is". All my items are guaranteed to look and function as advertised or I will gladly accept a return. What other sellers provide that kind of service? The answer is: Very few, take a look and see!Just serviced, upgraded feet which are new old stock OEM Pioneer rubber feet! Recapped Control Board! Grado GF1 Cartridge with OEM Grado Blue Dot Stylus, Audiophile level, $175 value. Best cartridge of any PL-512 listed on Reverb!Fully manual turntable, these motors last the longest because there's nothing there to go wrong with them. No extra features or other kind of doodads. And, Pioneer has the famous Hall Motor. This motor has been known to have one million revolutions and last 60+ years!...The Dust cover has a few marks, but no cracks, breaks or missing pieces. There's a circular stain on the lower right side of the plinth. I've made some efforts and got it looking very light! This is basically the only cosmetic flaw on the Plinth. That minor stain Does not affect the performance of the turntable at all! The turntable is already packed and even DOUBLE-BOXED! Ships in 72 hours, maybe even less than that Monday through Thursday when your payment clears! If your payment clears Friday, Saturday or Sunday, then ships no later than the following Wednesday. I do not ship on weekends! The order will just sit in a warehouse out in the HOT California desert for the entire weekend under potentially heavy boxes until it starts to move again midday on the following Monday! I would rather just keep it here at my office, safe and sound until then! The Price is firm, unless you buy additional items from me on Reverb concurrently! Then, I will give you a bundle price on two or more items and potentially ship any items together when possible, in order to save you even more money!Thank you!

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Unknown condition makes the price hard to justify: at USD 419, this is clearly ambitious against recent comparables, sitting well above the USD 300 75th percentile and roughly USD 156 over the USD 263 median. Unless it is exceptionally clean, serviced, and complete, there should be room to negotiate substantially.

The PL-512 is a worthwhile vintage deck when properly set up: its simple manual belt drive, solid die-cast platter, capable S-shaped arm, and synchronous motor make for dependable, unfussy playback. A clean dust cover, original cartridge, and verified stylus would add value, but they do not automatically support this premium. Before paying near the ask, confirm stable 33/45 rpm operation, quiet motor and bearing, sound cueing, intact feet, and a usable belt; a serviced example around the upper end of the normal range would be the more compelling buy.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Pioneer

Pioneer traces its roots to 1937 in Tokyo, Japan, when founder Nozomu Matsumoto, inspired by the thrill of imported hi-fi speakers, developed the A-8 dynamic speaker and launched a radio and speaker repair shop. The business formalized as Fukuin Shokai Denki Seisakusho in 1938, evolving into Pioneer Corporation and embodying Matsumoto's philosophy of "Move the Heart and Touch the Soul" through audio innovation.

The brand excels across diverse hi-fi categories, pioneering Japan's first headphones in 1960 with the SE-1 and the world's first component-based stereo system in 1965 via the PSC-5A. Pioneer's portfolio spans amplifiers, speakers, turntables, and DACs, alongside landmark car audio advancements like the 1975 Supertuner-equipped stereo and the 1986 in-car CD player, blending home and automotive excellence.

Today, Pioneer holds a commanding mid-to-high-tier position in the market, revered for reliable, performance-driven gear that balances premium quality with accessibility. Its vintage components attract collectors, while current offerings appeal to discerning buyers seeking robust, innovative sound reproduction without boutique excess.
