This is a strong deal. At €400, it sits below the €401 25th-percentile comparable and well under the €547 median, making it a bargain if the unit is genuinely in excellent condition. The clone designation means resale and build consistency may not match an original darTZeel, but the price leaves meaningful room for that distinction.
The appeal is the NHB-108-inspired circuit approach: a fast, wide-bandwidth stereo power amp aimed at clean dynamics, immediacy, and low coloration. The D5 Pro is reported to offer substantial output, plus RCA and XLR connectivity, making it a versatile partner for revealing systems. Confirm that both channels are quiet, the bias remains stable when warm, and the claimed inputs and accessories are present; otherwise, this looks like an unusually attractive entry into the design at €400.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
darTZeel: Swiss Precision Engineering for Discerning Audiophiles
darTZeel Audio SA was founded by Hervé Delétraz in Switzerland, with the brand name itself an anagram of the founder's surname. The company emerged from a philosophy rooted in humanistic design principles, viewing music as a medium for soul expression and spiritual development rather than mere entertainment. This foundational ethos has guided the Geneva-based manufacturer's evolution into a respected name in high-fidelity audio, with the iconic NHB-108 monoblock amplifier first presented in New York in 2002 establishing the brand's early reputation for excellence.
The brand is primarily known for reference-grade amplification, including both monoblock and integrated designs that have garnered universal acclaim from professional reviewers. Beyond amplifiers, darTZeel has expanded into digital audio with innovative products like the LHC-208, a "danalogue" integrated unit combining streaming, DAC, and amplification capabilities with support for high-resolution formats up to DSD256. The company's manufacturing approach emphasizes meticulous CNC-machined aluminum casework and sophisticated assembly, with products instantly recognizable by their distinctive industrial design.
darTZeel occupies the ultra-premium, boutique segment of the high-end audio market, positioning itself as a reference-quality manufacturer for discerning collectors and serious enthusiasts. The brand's reputation rests on uncompromising engineering, limited production runs, and a commitment to sonic purity that has made its components aspirational within audiophile circles. Recent expansion into North America through darTZeel America Inc. signals the brand's continued growth while maintaining its exclusive positioning in the luxury audio landscape.
