This is a seller’s market at this price: €629 is far above the comparable used-market median of €142 and well beyond the €259 75th percentile. Unless this is genuinely new old stock with complete factory packaging and unusually strong warranty or provenance, it is an ambitious asking price rather than a used bargain. The title suggests the third-generation T5, but the generation should be confirmed before considering it.
The T5 remains a well-regarded closed-back: detailed, comfortable, easy to drive from modest equipment, and unusually spacious for its design. The Tesla drivers, replaceable pads, hard case, detachable cable, and original invoice add real value, particularly if everything is immaculate and unused. Even so, €629 needs exceptional condition and documentation to make sense; a buyer should negotiate heavily or keep looking for a substantially lower example.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Beyerdynamic traces its roots to 1924 Berlin, where engineer Eugen Beyer founded Elektrotechnische Fabrik Eugen Beyer to produce cinema loudspeakers for the dawn of sound films. Born in St. Petersburg in 1903, Beyer relocated amid the Russian Revolution, pioneering dynamic drivers that defined early audio reproduction. Post-World War II destruction forced a rebuild in Heilbronn in 1948, with his son Fred R. Beyer steering the family-owned firm through decades of innovation until its 2025 acquisition by China's Cosonic Intelligent, marking the end of a century-long German heritage.
The brand excels in headphones and microphones, launching the DT 48 in 1937 as the world's first dynamic headphones—a staple for sound engineers until 2012. It expanded into wireless systems, conference tech, and professional monitoring gear, serving studios, broadcast, film, and now gaming. While early efforts included amplifiers and loudspeakers, Beyerdynamic prioritizes transducers over consumer amps, DACs, turntables, speakers, or cables.
Renowned for durable, reference-grade professional audio, Beyerdynamic occupies a solid mid-to-high-end niche, blending accessible pricing with studio precision that appeals to creators and audiophiles. Its century of milestones—from micing royalty to touring icons—cements a reputation for reliability and sonic purity among discerning hi-fi buyers seeking tools that endure.
