Seller's Description

Hegel Music Systems H390 Integrated Amplifier (Solid State) I don't think there is anything I can say about this that hasn't been said better in reviews or Youtube videos. I have linked on video from Ron but this is an older one. It now is Roon ready and works perfectly. Monster of an amp that does it all. Updated and running Roon and all the other streaming stuff. Comes with original box and packaging. Only slight issue is some wear on the remote from previous owner. Happy to ship nationwide upon negotiation. RRP is $9,995 https://www.hegel.com/en/products/integrated/h390 Condition: Excellent

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Hegel’s H390 sits near the top of the brand’s integrated lineup, with the kind of grip, scale, and refinement that makes it popular with listeners who want serious power without moving to separates. At A$5,500, this is above the recent used-market median of A$4,435 and also above the 75th percentile at A$5,052, so it reads as ambitious rather than a bargain.

That said, an excellent-condition example still has real appeal if you want a one-box amp that does high current drive, controlled bass, and an unfussy, neutral presentation with plenty of headroom. The upside here is mainly in buying a well-regarded, current-gen design in clean condition; if it includes the original box, remote, and paperwork, that helps justify the ask.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Hegel Music Systems

Hegel Music Systems traces its roots to 1988 in Norway, when engineering student Bent Holter at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim undertook a thesis project to redesign transistor amplifiers, eliminating distortion inherent in traditional hi-fi designs. Drawing from his time in the rock band The Hegel Band, Holter named his venture accordingly and secured funding from telecom giant Telenor to refine his innovations. Patented SoundEngine technology emerged in the early 1990s, followed by the company's first DAC in 1994 and CD player in 1996, marking a period of steady growth amid economic challenges where Hegel defiantly invested in new talent rather than cutting costs.

The brand focuses squarely on high-performance electronics, excelling in integrated amplifiers, power amplifiers, preamplifiers, CD players, and external DACs that prioritize musical purity and low distortion. Headquartered in Oslo for research, development, and testing, Hegel outsources manufacturing to China, emphasizing circuit design and software coding in-house to uphold its engineering standards.

Hegel occupies a premium niche in the hi-fi market, renowned for competitively priced components that deliver world-class sound and no-nonsense reliability. Among discerning audiophiles, it stands as a modern high-end contender, blending Norwegian precision with global appeal since its 1998 CES debut.
