Against four recent comparable listings, the €454 median and €397 25th percentile make €499 a fair price, though not quite the bargain it would be below €397. It is also comfortably below the €1,134 upper quartile, so the asking figure is defensible for a complete, clean example rather than inflated.
The appeal is that this is a practical, properly matched PA package: a 15-inch active sub, compact 8-inch/1-inch tops, built-in crossover and ample output for small venues, parties or rehearsal work. The sub offers useful low-end extension and the integrated amplification keeps setup straightforward, while wheels and stands improve portability. At €499, confirm that both tops, stands, cables and any covers are included, and test the sub’s amplifier, crossover and inputs under load; with the bundle complete and functioning quietly, this looks like a sound buying opportunity.

Basis Audio emerged from the passion of founder A.J. Conti, a brilliant analog engineer whose hobby evolved into a full-time pursuit in the mid-1980s. Starting with the Debut model shortly after founding the company in the United States, Conti left his day job within a year to dedicate himself to revolutionizing vinyl playback through meticulous engineering and a zealous commitment to analog design.
The brand focuses exclusively on high-end turntables, renowned for innovations like fluid-damped suspensions, vacuum platters, and precision drive systems. Models such as the Debut series, Inspiration, and flagship Work of Art—unveiled at the 2004 Winter CES—represent pinnacles of record playback, blending scientific measurement with artistic refinement to deliver unmatched sonic performance.
Basis Audio commands a niche position at the apex of the high-end analog market, cherished by discerning audiophiles for rock-solid stability, exceptional detail, and transformative musicality. Over three decades, its designs have set gold standards, earning acclaim from outlets like The Absolute Sound and Stereophile as among the finest turntables ever produced.
