New, the Samson Q9x has typically sold below about €100, so €120 used is above replacement cost and sits clearly above the €94 median of comparable listings. It is still below the €196 75th percentile, but not a bargain; for “neuwertig” condition with original packaging, €90–€100 would feel more compelling, while €120 is on the ambitious side.
The Q9x is a capable broadcast dynamic: its cardioid pattern rejects room noise well, the humbucking coil helps suppress interference, and the integrated yoke, XLR output, and switchable mid-presence boost make it practical for voice work. It is also robust and handles instruments confidently. The clean condition and OVP add reassurance, but they do not fully overcome the price premium over both new-cost territory and the typical used market.

Samson Technologies was founded in 1980 in the United States and built its name first in wireless microphone systems. Its early history is tied to pro-audio innovation rather than consumer hi-fi, and the brand has remained focused on practical, affordable audio tools for musicians, broadcasters, podcasters, and creators.
Today, Samson is best known for microphones, wireless systems, portable PA gear, studio monitors, mixers, headphones, and accessories. It is not primarily a turntable, DAC, or high-end loudspeaker brand, and those products are not central to its identity. The company’s strongest association is with accessible recording and live-sound equipment, especially USB microphones and entry-level studio and streaming gear.
In the market, Samson sits in the entry-level to mid-tier professional-audio segment rather than the high-end hi-fi world. Its reputation is for value, convenience, and broad utility rather than audiophile prestige or boutique craftsmanship. For buyers, it is best understood as a dependable mainstream brand for functional audio hardware, not a vintage-collector name or luxury hi-fi maker.
