Seller's Description

Ich verkaufe meinen hochwertigen aktiven Canton Ergo AS 1 Subwoofer in Weiß (Schleiflack), Made in Germany.

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

The Canton Ergo F is a well-regarded compact, wall-mountable member of the Ergo range, valued for clean, precise sound rather than deep-bass heft. At €139, this is a strong deal: it sits below the €144 25th-percentile mark from 10 comparable listings and well under the €214 median, assuming the price is for the complete pair.

Its slim sealed cabinet and lively, balanced presentation make it a smart choice for a second system, surround duty, or unobtrusive stereo setup. The aluminium driver complement should deliver articulate detail, while the compact format makes placement easy. At this money, excellent condition is particularly attractive; simply confirm both woofers and tweeters play cleanly and that the grilles or mounting hardware, if promised, are included.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Canton

Canton traces its roots to 1972, when four hi-fi enthusiasts—Hubert Milbers, Otfried Sandig, Wolfgang Seitkritt, and Günther Seitz—founded the company in the small German town of Weilrod, near Frankfurt. Registering the name as a blend of the Latin "cantare" (to sing) and German "Ton" (musical tone), they began operations in a repurposed village schoolhouse with 35 employees assembling speaker enclosures. Still family-owned and led by descendants like Günther Seitz, Canton embodies enduring German engineering precision, manufacturing primarily in Niederlauken and Weilrod.

The brand focuses squarely on loudspeakers, offering over 300 models across 12 series tailored to diverse budgets, room sizes, and applications—from compact bookshelf designs and the pioneering 1979 sub/sat system to high-end Reference lines and wireless innovations. While speakers dominate, Canton also produces complementary hi-fi components, blending traditional cabinetry with digital amplification advancements, all subjected to rigorous quality controls.

Positioned as a mid-to-high-end mainstay in the global hi-fi market, Canton commands respect for its "pure music" philosophy, exporting to 53 countries with a reputation for reliable, elegant performance that appeals to discerning buyers seeking value without compromise. Independent of corporate conglomerates, it remains a smart, appreciating investment for audiophiles valuing Made-in-Germany craftsmanship.
