€80 is a fair asking price, right on the median for comparable used examples—not a bargain, but certainly not inflated.
The Bose Wave remains a compelling one-box system: its waveguide design produces surprisingly full, warm sound from a compact cabinet, while the built-in CD player, AM/FM tuner, alarm functions, and auxiliary input make it genuinely useful rather than merely convenient. The included power cable means it is ready to use, and at this price it makes good sense for a bedroom, office, or secondary listening spot. If the remote is included and the CD mechanism, display, tuner, and alarm all work properly, this is a sound buy. Do check those basics, since the remote is particularly important for operating many Wave models.

Bose Corporation traces its roots to 1964, when MIT professor Amar Gopal Bose founded the company in Natick, Massachusetts, after growing disillusioned with the poor performance of a high-end stereo system he purchased as a graduate student. Driven by a passion for replicating the immersive qualities of live music through rigorous acoustic research, Bose launched the venture with initial contracts for the U.S. military and NASA, emphasizing innovative speaker designs that prioritized indirect, reverberant sound over direct radiation. This American heritage, rooted in psychoacoustics and engineering excellence, has defined the brand's pursuit of "Better Sound Through Research."
Bose excels in consumer and professional audio categories, renowned for its home audio systems, premium speakers like the iconic 901 Series, and pioneering noise-canceling headphones first prototyped in the 1980s for pilots. The lineup extends to vehicle sound systems, portable Bluetooth speakers, and professional installations, but steers clear of niche hi-fi components such as amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, focusing instead on integrated, user-friendly solutions that blend advanced signal processing with spatial audio reproduction.
Positioned as a premium mid-tier powerhouse in the global market, Bose commands widespread appeal among discerning buyers seeking accessible high-performance audio without audiophile esoterica. Its reputation for innovation and reliability has built a loyal following, though purists occasionally critique its measured sound signature, cementing Bose as a dominant force in mainstream hi-fi rather than high-end boutique or vintage realms.
