Offered is „PWR 222“ by Gato Audio as second-hand device from the category „Transistor-Poweramp“ on audio-markt.de - the online market place for high-end. The advert with the number 7845755529 ends on 13.12.2026 at 15:29 o'clock.
This is a buyer’s market for the category: at €2,990, this sits dramatically below the recent comparable market, with a €4,449 25th percentile and €4,908 median. That makes it a genuine bargain rather than merely a fair listing, assuming the stated good condition is accurate.
The PWR-222 is a serious mono amplifier with 250 W into 8 ohms, 450 W into 4 ohms, balanced and unbalanced inputs, excellent measured noise performance, and substantial current delivery for demanding speakers. Its clean construction, WBT terminals, 12 V trigger, and distinctive output/temperature display add practical appeal. Confirm that this listing is for one amplifier and check mains voltage, included covers, and the display and trigger operation; otherwise, at €2,990 it looks like an unusually strong opportunity.

Gato Audio emerged from Denmark's storied high-end audio scene, founded in 2008 by Kresten Dinesen and Frederik Johansen, with Rasmus Holm joining as a key developer. The trio brought deep expertise from roles at prestigious Danish firms like Holfi and GamuT Audio, where they honed skills in development, production, and sales. Headquartered in Herlev since 2009, the company embodies Danish precision engineering, even drawing in industry veteran Poul Rossing for strategic guidance and capital.
The brand specializes in a cohesive lineup of high-end electronics, loudspeakers, and cables, designed and manufactured in-house for seamless integration. Standouts include powerful amplifiers like the AMP150, digital sources such as DACs and streamers, and refined speakers that prioritize musicality over gimmicks. This full-service approach ensures unrivaled price-to-performance ratios, with every component reflecting meticulous build quality and aesthetic appeal.
Positioned as a niche boutique player in the high-end market, Gato Audio commands respect among discerning audiophiles for its award-winning products—over 15 years of critical acclaim—and innovative sound that delivers relaxed, realistic textures without artificial detailing. Far from mass-market, it appeals to knowledgeable buyers seeking soulful, personality-driven performance from a true Danish specialist.
