€1,490 is far beyond the normal used market: with a median of €433 and even the 75th percentile at €703 across eight comparable listings, this is an ambitious asking price rather than a sensible buy. Unless this is an unusually pristine, complete example with exceptional provenance, negotiation would need to be substantial.
The LT 5’s matching subwoofer is a capable home-cinema performer, with a 300 mm driver, roughly 300 W RMS output and claimed extension down to 25 Hz; it is built for deep, high-level bass rather than subtle nearfield listening. That makes it worthwhile at a realistic used price, especially with the original power cable, remote and fully working amplifier, but nothing in the listing justifies paying more than twice the comparable-market upper quartile.

Teufel is a German audio brand with roots in Berlin, where it was founded in 1979 by Carl Teufel. Emerging during the heyday of home hi-fi enthusiasm, the company built its heritage on engineering-driven innovation, initially focusing on custom speaker designs that prioritized precision and dynamic sound reproduction for discerning listeners.
The brand excels in active speakers and soundbars, alongside wireless multi-room systems, headphones, and portable Bluetooth options. While not delving into amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, Teufel emphasizes integrated solutions with built-in amplification and app-controlled streaming, catering to modern home entertainment setups.
Positioned as a mid-tier contender with premium aspirations, Teufel enjoys a strong reputation in Europe for delivering high-value performance—bold bass, spacious imaging, and robust build quality—that punches above its price point. It appeals to knowledgeable buyers seeking reliable, stylish hi-fi without ultra-high-end excess, holding a solid niche in the competitive consumer audio market.
