Seller's Description

If you’re looking for a complete, all original 1219 package…with EXTRAS…grab this NOW!!!I’ve searched current, and sold 1219 listings, and while there are, and have been, some really nice ones out there, none compare to this package! Why??? Well, let’s break it down…Of course, as the title suggests, you’re getting the iconic “hideaway” CK-20 plinth in absolutely beautiful condition! The full installation instructions are still inside…fully intact, and in good condition! Now, the difference between others being advertised is when you flip the door down! Included is the multi play spindle, single play spindle, 45 rpm adapter, and not 1, but 2 EXTRA sleds with cartridges! A very old Shure M91, (not sure if it works), and an Audio Technica AT-1300e that did test good…both will need new styli though.Headed up top, you get the heavy strobe scale platter, and all the features that make the 1219 one of Dual’s most sought after models! Another sled houses a Pickering V-15 cartridge,(that will need a new styli as well), and the speed has been dialed in to a couple of fractions off of 33 1/3! And it’s rock steady! Included is the dust cover in absolutely beautiful condition, save for a small piece missing from the back left corner, (pictured), but doesn’t affect the cover’s function in any way. But wait…there’s more!!! This package includes the ORIGINAL owner’s manual, guide for installation, AND a warning notice attached to the tonearm!! You just don’t see those…EVER!!! The table itself has been cleaned, old grease removed, and replaced with light lithium grease. The steuerpimpel has been replaced and the entire unit has been tested with excellent results. I have video of it working through its operations, and can send video confirmation. The reason I listed it “not working” is because as you may or may not know, Dual tables are somewhat complex, and can be finicky at times, so once it arrives, you may find it may need adjustment…but I guarantee it will turn on and spin. This table will be very securely packed, (I have extensive experience shipping tables with 100% success), and will be shipped via FedEx, insured for the full purchase price.

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This is a buyer’s market at USD 649: the price is below the recent comparable median of USD 712, though not a bargain—the 25th percentile is USD 281 and the 75th is USD 775. It looks fair for a complete, working example, with room to negotiate if servicing or cosmetic condition is unclear.

The 1219 remains a superb vintage idler-drive: substantial platter, strong timing, three speeds including 78, and a capable gimballed tonearm. Its automatic changer can also play up to six records, while single-play operation remains genuinely good. At this price, confirm that the motor, speed controls, cueing, and changer cycle work properly, and check the dust cover and plinth; hardened grease and small mechanism parts can turn a “working” unit into a restoration project.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Dual

Dual emerged from the Black Forest region of Germany in 1907, when brothers Christian and Joseph Steidinger began manufacturing clockwork and gramophone components in St. Georgen. The company adopted its now-iconic name in 1927 after pioneering dual-mode power supplies that allowed gramophones to operate from either mains electricity or mechanical wind-up mechanisms. This innovation marked the beginning of Dual's transition from component supplier to full-fledged audio manufacturer, establishing a foundation of engineering precision that would define the brand for decades.

Dual built its reputation primarily as a turntable specialist, becoming Europe's largest turntable manufacturer by the post-war era with over 3,000 employees across multiple factories. Beyond vinyl playback, the company expanded into cassette players, CD players, and broader consumer electronics throughout the 1970s and 1980s, demonstrating versatility across analog and digital formats. The company's focus on mechanical excellence and stable drive systems earned it recognition as a dependable, quality-focused manufacturer throughout its European heyday.

Today, Dual occupies a fragmented market position following corporate restructuring in the 1990s and subsequent ownership changes. The original German turntable line continues production in St. Georgen under Alfred Fehrenbacher GmbH, maintaining traditional manufacturing standards and appealing to vintage enthusiasts and collectors. Separately, Namsung Electronics markets Dual-branded consumer electronics in the Americas at accessible price points. The brand's legacy rests primarily on its classic turntables, which remain highly sought after by collectors and audiophiles valuing precision engineering and heritage craftsmanship.
