Seller's Description

Hallo zusammen,

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

When new, the MM-20 was a serious professional-quality modular mixer rather than a budget hi-fi accessory, with the original system starting at under €400 equivalent. At €190, this excellent-condition example is above the €144 median but comfortably below the €328 75th percentile, making it a fair-to-good buy rather than an ambitious one.

Its appeal is the unusually flexible patch-based architecture: four line inputs, two transformer-isolated XLR mic inputs, six buses, and straightforward expansion with the EX-20, PE-20, and MU-20 modules. It is a genuinely characterful early-’80s recording tool and a fine hands-on learning mixer, especially if the listing includes the associated modules or patch leads. Given its age, confirm every input, bus, patch socket, meter, and power function works; otherwise, the clean condition makes €190 easy to justify.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Tascam

Tascam is a Japanese professional-audio brand whose roots trace back to TEAC, founded in 1953 by the Tani brothers. The TASCAM name emerged in the late 1960s as TEAC Audio Systems Corporation, and it was formally established in 1971 as TEAC’s U.S. distribution and development arm for recorder products aimed at musicians and studios.

The brand is best known for recorders, mixers, field recorders, multitrack production units, audio interfaces, and related studio gear. Its catalogue has historically centered on practical recording tools rather than lifestyle hi-fi, with strong associations to cassette Portastudios, reel-to-reel machines, and compact pro-audio components.

In the market, Tascam sits in the pro-audio and project-studio space rather than the high-end audiophile tier. Its reputation is built on utility, durability, and value, and some vintage models have become collector favorites, but the brand is not typically positioned as a boutique or luxury hi-fi name.
