COINCIDENT STATEMENT Phono Preamplifier This is the award winning Coincident MC Phono Pre Amp, the MkII version (latest). The line stage is selectable by a front panel toggle switch. It selects to "CD" but you can attach any other source eg a streamer. There are 2 units - one power supply and one amp. They are connected by a Coincident umbilical cord (pictured). There are no circuit boards, its all point to point wiring and very high quality components. As you can see from the photographs it is in excellent condition. At A$5,400, this sits a touch below the old new-price territory for Coincident’s Statement preamps, which were around A$7,800–A$10,000+ depending on version and import costs, so it reads as a fair-to-strong buy rather than a stretch. The closest used comps I found span from A$4,249 for a very good line stage to A$5,600 for an excellent phono stage, putting A$5,400 comfortably in the plausible mid-to-upper used band for this family.
That makes sense for a preamp line known for big, refined tube sound, strong dynamics, and a notably high-end build. If this one is genuinely excellent, with healthy tubes and the right power supply/accessories, the appeal is the usual Coincident upside: serious performance without paying new-retail pain. For a line like this, I’d mainly confirm tube age, channel balance, and that all included parts are present before jumping.
