Seller's Description

Simaudio Moon 240i Integrated Amplifier Selling my Simaudio Moon 240i Integrated amplifier with all original packaging in pretty mint condition.   I have had this amp about a year and it amazingly took over in my main system.   The DAC and Phono are great. It has driven every speaker I have thrown at it with ease to louder than I could bare to listen to for longer periods. It has been on JBL 4430, Tannoy Arden, JBL 4411, Dynaudio Excite, big Paradigms, Yamaha NS1000 and did very well   Will ship to Eastern majors for $50 and will ship nationally   Info here.... https://simaudio.com/en/guides/2

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This A$2,600 asking price is fair for a like-new Moon by Simaudio 240i, sitting just below its original Australian retail of A$2,999 and aligning with the typical used market where these units often drop to roughly half or slightly more of their new price. While a German listing shows €1,800 (approx. A$2,950), the A$2,600 figure here represents solid value for a pristine Canadian-built unit rather than a bargain, but it avoids being ambitious given the model’s age and the presence of the newer Neo 240i replacement.

The 240i remains a well-regarded entry-level integrated that delivers 50Wpc of rock-solid Class-AB power with a first 5W in Class-A, plus a built-in phono stage and a versatile DAC handling DSD256 and 384kHz PCM. Its ten-year warranty (often transferable) and Canadian construction add meaningful upside, making this clean, original-owner listing a timely buying opportunity for enthusiasts wanting high-quality power and digital flexibility without stepping into the pricier Neo line. No material caveats apply at this fair price for a like-new condition unit.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Moon by Simaudio

Moon by Simaudio traces its roots to 1980, when Victor Sima, an Israeli émigré and qualified audio engineer, founded Sima Electronique in Canada with a deliberate mission to craft superior-sounding products at accessible prices. Initially targeting professionals, the brand—later renamed Simaudio—quickly captivated audiophiles for its sonic excellence and value. Sima retired in 1994, selling to Jean Poulin, whose leadership propelled the evolution into the premium MOON series, building on successes like the Celeste line and in-house innovations from their Quebec facilities.

The company specializes in high-performance electronics, excelling in amplifiers, integrated systems, preamplifiers, power amplifiers, and digital converters such as DACs. All products undergo meticulous hand-assembly, in-house chassis machining, and rigorous burn-in testing in Montreal-area factories, emphasizing precision engineering over mass production. While not venturing into speakers, turntables, headphones, or cables, MOON's lineup—from reference-grade flagships to the more approachable "1" series—delivers trickle-down technology for broad appeal.

Positioned firmly in the high-end market, Moon by Simaudio commands respect as a boutique Canadian powerhouse, blending audiophile purity with user-friendly design. Privately held and exported to 45 countries, it rejects esoteric tweaks in favor of natural, detailed sound that invites music lovers to truly immerse themselves, sustaining vibrant success without compromising its heritage of engineering excellence.
