Seller's Description

JL Audio F110 V1 Subwoofer (Active / Powered) These units are some of the best 10 inch subwoofers money can buy in my opinion.   Very heavy items at 30kg each which gives an indication of the build quality and heroic drivers inside.   Cosmetically these are near flawless with only the slightest hint of swirl marks on top only visible by shining a light directly on its surface. Basically mint. Photography is not my forte but  hopefully they show how well these are looked after…   I am the second owner so unsure of exact age but they operate flawlessly.   sonically they add a dimension to the so

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Compared with buying a new sub or amp at this level, A$3,850 for a like-new JL Audio powered unit looks fair to strong, not cheap-but-risky territory. I can’t benchmark the exact model from “v1 powered (Other)” with confidence, so I’d treat it as a premium used buy rather than a bargain-basement one; if this is a larger original JL package, the ask is still sensible for clean condition in the current used market.

What makes it attractive is the usual JL formula: strong output, tight control, and the sort of build quality that tends to age well if it’s been treated properly. The real upside here is the like-new presentation, which matters on powered gear because clean cosmetics often go hand-in-hand with careful ownership and fewer install headaches. If the mounting hardware, remote, and power leads are included, that adds real value and makes it an easy buy for someone who wants a serious plug-and-play step up.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About JL Audio

Founded in 1975 in Miramar, Florida, by James Birch and Lucio Proni—whose initials inspired the JL name—the company began as a modest venture crafting high-fidelity home speaker systems and kits. Riding the car audio boom of the early 1980s, Birch and Proni pivoted to automotive applications, pioneering subwoofers like the W2, W5, and later the acclaimed W7 series, which featured patented technologies for superior bass performance. This heritage of engineering innovation, fueled by competition wins and relentless R&D, propelled JL Audio from a garage operation to industry trailblazer, expanding facilities in Florida and Arizona.

JL Audio excels in high-performance categories tailored to demanding environments, with a core focus on car audio amplifiers, subwoofers, and full-range speakers, alongside marine audio systems built for harsh saltwater conditions. Their lineup extends to home audio, including powered subwoofers and high-output enclosures like the Stealthbox, but eschews mainstream consumer fare such as turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables. Decades of acoustic expertise ensure products deliver precise, powerful sound reproduction across vehicles, boats, and living spaces.

Renowned as a high-end authority in mobile and marine audio, JL Audio commands premium positioning among discerning enthusiasts who prioritize uncompromised fidelity and durability over mass-market compromises. While mid-tier options exist, their reputation rests on boutique-level engineering—think W7 subwoofers that redefined bass standards—cementing a loyal following in competitive scenes and upscale installations. For the knowledgeable hi-fi buyer, JL Audio represents enduring excellence in specialized, physics-driven audio solutions.
