Selling my Mcintosh MA 6200. This unit has been fully restored. New LEDs, capacitors and diodes. The preamp, main amp, power supply, phono preamp, filter capacitors, and any miscellaneous parts have been changed. High quality parts have been used. I will be sending the original parts with the unit. The condition on the glass is in almost perfect condition. No rust or any signs of corrosion on the chassis on the unit. The cabinet has a few dings but overall in nice condition. Comes with the original box and packaging. I love this integrated amplifier, but I have moved on to separates. I used this as a preamp, but it feels like wasted potential. For awhile I used the amplifier and the 75 watts definitely punch. Crystal clear sound and very dynamic. The equalizer is a nice touch that I commonly use. Volume pot has a high end notchy feel. If 75 watts is what you need, than this is an amplifier for life. Shipping this unit, I will preserve the original box by boxing over it. The unit will NOT come with the pre-in main out Jumpers. Also to note, there is some slight scratchyness in the loudness pot. It gets better with use, I just prefer not to use deoxite.
New McIntosh integrated amplifiers in this tier typically ask well north of US$10,000, so a used example at US$3,250 is squarely in the mid‑used‑market band rather than bargain territory. Against your own recent comparables—median asking price US$2,154, with 25th percentile at US$1,096 and 75th at US$4,285—the ask sits comfortably above the median but still within the upper half of the distribution, which suggests it is fair to mildly ambitious rather than obviously overpriced, assuming the unit is genuinely restored and in good health.
Before clicking “buy,” check that the restoration work is documented and that the seller can confirm any replaced tubes, coupling capacitors, or power‑supply components, since electrolytics and tube sockets are common failure points on older McIntosh gear. Also verify that the original box, remote (if applicable), and any original manuals or paperwork are included, because in this segment buyers often pay extra for completeness and provenance.
