Vincent PHO-8 phono amplifier w/ power supply unit, as pictured.Only lightly used, in excellent shape! Great sounding preamp.
Against the obvious new-budget alternative at this price, a used phono stage only makes sense if it clearly outclasses entry-level boxes—and this one is right on the money at US$300. With recent comparable used listings centered at US$288, a US$281 low end, and US$294 high end, this asking price sits just above the typical range but not enough to feel stretched.
That makes it a sensible buy if the unit is clean and fully working, especially since the PHO-8 was well regarded as a serious MM/MC phonostage with the kind of quiet, flexible performance that can anchor a good analog front end. At this level, the upside is getting near-midrange sound and solid build without paying new-retail money; I’d mainly want confirmation of normal operation, proper power supply, and no channel imbalance before jumping in.
