Seller's Description

Woo Audio WA6-SE (2nd Gen) Headphone Amplifier in very clean condition, well cared for and fully functional. This unit gives the single-ended tube warmth and buckets of power Woo Audio is known for, the clarity and dynamics are stunning and the build quality is second to none. This is the most heavy duty piece of gear I've ever owned, the chassis is heavy and the pots are weighty and smooth. The on switch is the most satisfying clunk you'll come across. Only selling because I need something with onboard EQ!Includes the original packaging and has been kept in a smoke-free environment. The tubes are of course included.Normally I offer free shipping but I will have to ask for a small amount given the weight of this thing!

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

The WA6-SE has a strong reputation as a musically rich, well-built tube headphone amp, and US$1,817 is clearly ambitious for a used one. Recent used examples in this market have clustered much lower: roughly US$650 for a 1st-gen unit, about US$800 to US$999 for later-gen units with extras, so this listing sits well above the usual used range.

That only makes sense if the “cables & accessories” package is genuinely substantial and includes desirable tubes or upgrades, because the amp itself is not rare enough to justify a premium by name alone. If those extras are modest, I’d treat it as overpriced; if the bundle is deep, well-documented, and the amp is clean, it could still be a convenience buy for someone who wants a turn-key setup.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Woo Audio

Woo Audio is a New York-based high-end audio company founded in the mid-2000s, with 2006 widely cited as its launch year. It was built by the Wu family, with Jack Wu as the public face of the brand and key design influence, alongside family members who helped shape the company’s early growth. Its roots are in tube electronics and a strong appreciation for live sound, which has remained central to its identity.

The brand is best known for vacuum-tube headphone amplifiers, especially models such as the WA series, along with electrostatic headphone amplifiers like the WES. Woo also makes a smaller range of speaker amps, plus related audio accessories and cables, while its website and retail focus remain centered on amplification and headphone-oriented listening rather than source components or turntables.

In the market, Woo Audio sits firmly in the boutique high-end niche. It is respected among headphone enthusiasts for handcrafted, valve-based designs, substantial build quality, and a distinctive sonic character often associated with warmth, scale, and refinement. It is not a mass-market brand; instead, it appeals to serious buyers looking for premium, specialized amplification with a strong American-made identity.
