Seller's Description

I'm selling this wonderful T+A Pulsar CD 1230 R CD player in excellent working condition. It was used very occasionally and in a smoke-free environment. It only has a small cosmetic scratch on the top (see the photos, which are part of the description). Feel free to ask any questions (more photos, videos, etc.).The unit is sold as described or photographed. It will be shipped carefully. A power cable is included. A remote control is not included (programming a generic/non-standard remote would be the best solution if needed).----------------------------------------------------The T&A CD 1230 R uses a DSP signal processor: better oversampling than conventional chips. The CD 1230 R employs a particular class of filters that do not produce pre-echoes. Two Sigma-Delta stereo converters operate in double differential mode for optimal performance in terms of noise, overload, and dynamics. The T+A inverse clock process provides 192 kHz/24-bit resolution and eliminates phase jitter.Connection Elements:The CD player's analog output provides a fixed-level output signal. It is designed to be connected to a preamplifier, integrated amplifier, or receiver with its own volume control. Optical digital output for connecting to an external digital-to-analog converter. RC Input: RC input jack for connecting to an "R" series preamplifier, integrated amplifier, or receiver.Specifications:- Frequency response: 2 Hz – 20 kHz- Distortion/intermodulation < 0.002%- Effective system dynamics: 97 dB- Signal-to-noise ratio (A-weighted): 109 dB- Signal-to-noise ratio (unweighted): 106 dB- Channel separation: 1 kHz / 10 kHz: 106 / 100 dB- Digital output: SP-DIF data format, 1 x Opto = 660 nm / -18 dBm- Nominal analog output: 2.6 V eff, 22 Ohm- Dimensions: 7.5 x 44 x 39 cm- Weight: 7 kg- Color: Aluminum Silver

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Is it worth jumping on at US$1,085? Yes — against your recent comparable pool, that lands well below the US$1,452 25th percentile and far under the US$3,187 median, so this reads as a strong bargain rather than a fair-price listing.

The upside is straightforward: T+A gear is generally well built, and a clean, working CD player from them is the kind of disc-spinner that can outperform a lot of bargain-box alternatives in refinement and durability. Since the condition is unknown, the real buyer question is operational: laser read speed, tray behavior, and whether the remote and any original accessories are included. If it’s fully functional, this looks like an easy enthusiast buy.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About T+A

T+A, a pinnacle of German hi-fi engineering, traces its roots to 1978 when physicist Siegfried Amft founded the company in Herford, northwest Germany. Standing for "Theorie und Anwendung in der Elektroakustik" (Theory and Application in Electroacoustics), it began with a bold vision: crafting exceptional audio products despite limited resources. Amft's early focus on loudspeakers evolved rapidly into electronics, establishing T+A as a family-run enterprise driven by scientific curiosity and relentless innovation.

The brand excels across a broad spectrum of high-end categories, from meticulously engineered amplifiers and cutting-edge music players to top-tier separates, compact Hi-Fi systems, and all-in-one solutions. Its loudspeakers, both passive and active, remain a cornerstone, complemented by pioneering digital components like the world's first DSD 1024-capable player. This comprehensive range spans analog and digital domains, catering to audiophiles seeking uncompromising performance.

Positioned firmly in the high-end market, T+A commands respect as Germany's market leader and one of the world's most influential hi-fi marques. Renowned for pushing technological boundaries—through ties to elite technical universities and in-house R&D—it delivers products that blend engineering precision with emotional musicality, appealing to discerning buyers who demand the ultimate in fidelity.
