Emerging from Skaaning's prior venture QSR and ties to Scandinavian Speaker Company, the firm quickly expanded, developing iconic early products like the D2008 tweeter by 1971-74. Backed financially by Dynaco's David Hafler in 1974, Scan-Speak solidified its Danish roots, with all transducers still hand-built today by a dedicated staff of around 50 at its original facility.

Once acquired by Tymphany, it returned to Danish ownership via local investors, reinforcing its reputation among discerning builders and luxury manufacturers who demand the crème de la crème.
