Our Thoughts RADAR AI

The timing is fine: this is a current-generation model, not an older speaker line you’d be buying only for nostalgia, so the main question is value. At €490, it sits a bit above the €477 75th percentile of your recent comps, so I’d call it slightly ambitious, but not wildly off for an excellent example.

That said, the Oberon 5 is well-liked for being easy to place, punchy in the bass for its size, and very balanced through the mids, which makes it a strong all-round floorstander for everyday listening. If the finish is clean, the grilles and feet are included, and the pair has seen light use, it’s still a worthwhile buy; I’d just expect a little room to negotiate rather than paying full ask.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Dali

DALI, or Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries, traces its roots to 1983, when Peter Lyngdorf founded the company in Denmark as the in-house speaker brand for his Hi-Fi Klubben retail chain, established three years earlier. Born in the back office of that operation, DALI quickly outgrew its origins, relocating to a dedicated factory in the small town of Nørager in 1986. There, it has since expanded fourfold, embodying Denmark's storied legacy in audio innovation—from the world's first electro-dynamic loudspeaker to a precise sonic balance that tempers robust bass with refined highs.

The brand's focus remains squarely on loudspeakers, offering nearly twenty lines spanning compact bookshelf models, floorstanders, soundbars, subwoofers, Atmos and in-wall systems, center channels, and wireless options, including portable Bluetooth variants. Each speaker is hand-assembled by a single craftsman, computer-calibrated for consistency, and often features DALI's proprietary wood-fiber cone material for a distinctive look and natural tonality. While production of entry-level models occurs at a Danish-managed facility in China, premium lines emerge from Nørager, upholding meticulous acoustic design under the Low Loss philosophy to minimize distortion.

DALI holds a commanding yet understated position as the world's second-largest cabinet speaker manufacturer, distributed in over 70 countries with undeniable audiophile credentials. Renowned for high-end performance like the MegaLine series, it spans accessible price points to premium tiers, blending Scandinavian design, reliability, and expressive dynamics. Though less heralded in North America, its global reputation among discerning buyers underscores versatile, installer-friendly excellence.
