YBA’s Passion line is well regarded for a clean, controlled, musically natural presentation, and this preamp sits in that sweet spot for serious two-channel systems. At €6,200, it lands just below the €6,325 median of your recent comps and well within the main trading band between €5,489 and €9,856, so this reads as fair-to-good value, not a bargain-bin score but definitely not ambitious.
The upside here is the combination of a respected model, good condition, and the inclusion of cables and accessories, which removes some friction for a buyer who wants a ready-to-run upgrade. For a listener chasing refinement rather than flash, this is the kind of preamp that can anchor a high-quality system for years, and at this asking price the listing looks like a sensible buy if the unit is electrically quiet and cosmetically honest.

Founded in 1981 by Yves Bernard André, an electronics professor, YBA emerged from France as a beacon of passionate hi-fi innovation. André's designs embodied a quintessentially French flair—quirky yet brilliant—prioritizing simplicity, durability, and unadulterated musicality that captivated journalists and audiophiles alike. This heritage of precision and purity propelled the brand through decades of acclaim, earning international awards while steadfastly pursuing the ideal of sound so transparent it fades into the music itself.
YBA specializes in high-end electronics, with a core focus on amplifiers, preamplifiers, integrated amps, CD players, DACs, phono stages, and streaming devices across ranges like Design, Heritage, Passion, Signature, and Genesis. Custom French-made components such as connectors, transformers, cables, resistors, and solder underscore their commitment to reliability. While not delving into speakers, turntables, or headphones, their catalog emphasizes amplification and digital sources that deliver clarity and extraordinary musical engagement.
Positioned firmly in the high-end market, YBA blends boutique French design ethos with robust manufacturing scale, following Shanling's 2009 acquisition that preserved André's involvement and relaunched the brand internationally in 2012. Today, products remain "Designed in France, made with Passion," commanding respect among discerning buyers for their aesthetic appeal and sonic refinement, though production largely occurs in China. This evolution secures YBA's enduring niche as a sought-after name in premium hi-fi.
