At A$2,860, this is far above the typical used Mission market in AUD: against your database anchor, it sits well over the A$516 75th percentile and is therefore ambitious, not just a little above average. Even if the model was originally a serious floorstander, the asking price is pricing it like a much rarer or more collectible piece than the recent comparable market suggests.
What makes it potentially worthwhile is the chance to buy a well-known Mission speaker at all: the brand’s better floorstanders are generally liked for open, lively midrange and easy musicality, which can make them rewarding long-term listeners if they’re healthy and complete. At this level, though, I’d want very strong proof of condition, originality, and provenance — because the premium only makes sense if this is a genuinely special example with immaculate drivers, cabinets, and any original accessories.
