"The Mission 778X is a revisit of a classic Mission amplifier concept that was the Mission 778 – an affordable integrated amplifier that offered simplicity in operation but over-performed in the driving of loudspeakers. Equipped with a high-performance ESS ES9018K2M Reference chip with ESS Technology’s 32-bit HyperStream architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator. The phono stage is based around a JFET-based circuit with precise RIAA equalisation. It’s optimised for MM cartridges and as such, it’s a high-quality, low-noise input that eliminates any need for an additional phono pre-amp. Complementing the typical RCA line inputs are digital and coax connection options and a built-in Bluetooth receiver with an aptX and AAC codec, meaning the 778X offers CD performance via Bluetooth wireless connection. The convenience of streaming music from smart devices, such as phones, tablets or PCs have never sounded so good!" - Mission

About Mission

Mission Electronics, a British hi-fi icon, was founded in 1977 by Farad Azima in the UK, rapidly emerging as a pioneer in acoustic engineering. Azima, a former audio importer and distributor, infused the brand with innovative drive, launching the revolutionary Mission 770 loudspeaker in 1978—the world's first with a commercial polypropylene bass unit. This debut set benchmarks for clarity and bass response, propelling Mission to prominence amid the golden era of British hi-fi.

The brand excels in loudspeakers across sectors, from seminal 1970s and 1980s models like the 770 to high-end masterpieces such as the 2001 Pilastro, Elegante, and SX series. Under Peter Comeau's acoustic leadership since 1999, Mission has expanded into hi-fi electronics, including amplifiers and home cinema systems, while maintaining an engineering-first ethos. Now part of the International Audio Group since 2005, with production in Shenzhen, it leverages advanced manufacturing for components like cables and turntable ancillaries, though speakers remain its core strength.

Mission holds mid-to-high-end status, revered by discerning buyers for award-winning performance—What Hi-Fi? Best Loudspeaker (2000, 2001), EISA Speaker of the Year (2001, 2003)—and timeless appeal. A management buyout refined its retail focus, positioning it as a reliable benchmark against pricier rivals, blending heritage innovation with accessible excellence for serious audiophiles.
