Gorgeous Dual 1219 for sale. This legendary turntable has been rated in the top 10 turntables ever designed and manufactured. Recently restored to it's former glory, this deck works as Dual intended it too. It comes with the multiplay spindle, the single play spindle, and 45 rpm adapter. It has been set up for automatic functions. Stack 5 records and sit back and listen to them play instead of having to get up every 23 minutes and change the record. This 1219 is the 1st generation and highly sought after by audiophiles and collectors. The reason why is all levers are solid metal and will not break. Also the ribbed platter is heavier than both the 1229 and 1229q turntables cutting down distortion and rumbling. Please note: The manufacturer did not having cueing available in the multiplay mode. I figured out how to do it but the switch on the dress plate must always be left in multiplay mode. Do not put it in single play mode or you will damage the tonearm. It works just fine to play one record changing the spindle to single play without switching that lever. The plinth and dust cover are both in excellent shape and the dust cover has been custom sound deadend for better listening pleasure. The tonearm has been balanced and all adjustments have been made with the fantastic new Audio Technica 5013 cartridge with a new stylus. All levers, cams and switches have been meticulously cleaned and lubricated. Both bearings in the motor have been lubricated and the idler wheel had been inspected and serviced. The platter edge has been polished and the mat is in fabulous condition. A new upgraded RCA cable has also been installed. This turntable is working perfectly but it is not flawless so please look at all the photos carefully. Read the online reviews of this incredible turntable and take advantage of it before it's too late. Take all the time you need to decide, but my restored turntables sell fast!!! US$875 is a touch above the US$775 median and clearly over the US$775 75th percentile, so this reads as ambitious rather than a bargain. It is not wildly out of line, but it should be justified by unusually strong condition, recent service, or a very complete package.
The Dual 1219 is a classic idler-drive deck with real personality: punchy timing, stable pitch, and a robust automatic mechanism that, when sorted, can be very satisfying with vintage and modern cartridges alike. At this price, the value hinges on proof that the changer has been properly serviced and that the tonearm, motor, and cycle functions are working cleanly; an unrestored example at this level needs extra justification.
