Seller's Description

We have some new 'old' stock Chord cables which we are bringing out of storage at bargain prices.   This one comes in a cool retro wooden box!  Priced to sell.

The Chord Company Chorus 2 is a legacy high performance analogue audio interconnect featuring silver-plated oxygen-free copper conductors, PTFE insulation, and high-frequency shielding derived from the company's Signature line.

Overview and Specifications:

Conductors: Silver-plated central conductors with Teflon (PTFE) insulation.

Shielding: Heavy-gauge stranded layout with enhanced high-frequency woven braid shielding designed to reduce RFI/EMI interference.

Performance: Reviewers noted that the Chorus 2 interconnect offered clean top-end detail, improved soundstage space, and better resolution compared to standard or high-end DIY alternatives.

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

The unknown condition is the main issue: at NZ$415, this sits above the NZ$362 median but well below the NZ$792 75th percentile for comparable listings. That makes it a fair-to-slightly-strong asking price rather than a bargain, with value depending heavily on length, connector condition, and whether it is a genuine stereo pair.

Chorus 2 remains a well-regarded, properly engineered interconnect, offering clean detail, good shielding, and a slightly open, clear presentation when partnered with revealing equipment. Check the RCA plugs for looseness or oxidation, inspect the sheath and directional markings, and confirm both cables are the same length. If it is a tidy 1 m pair with original packaging or excellent connectors, NZ$415 is defensible; visibly worn examples should be negotiated down.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Chord Company

The Chord Company, a British hi-fi cable specialist, traces its origins to 1985 in Salisbury, England, where founder Sally Kennedy—then Sally Gibb—began handcrafting interconnects in her kitchen. Sparked by a dinner conversation with Naim Audio retailers seeking quality DIN-to-RCA cables for the US market, she launched the venture with Naim's endorsement, emphasizing fully British design and construction. The company rapidly outgrew multiple facilities before settling into its purpose-built headquarters near Stonehenge in Wiltshire in 2004.

Chord focuses exclusively on audio cabling, producing an extensive range of speaker cables, interconnects, power cords, digital links, and tonearm wires. Its products prioritize neutrality, delivering signal paths that neither add nor subtract from the music, crafted by a team of music enthusiasts using high-quality, UK-sourced materials. This singular dedication sets it apart from broader electronics brands.

Renowned internationally as a high-end boutique leader in cables, Chord Company occupies a premium niche, balancing exceptional performance with value across budgets. Its reputation for transparency, build quality, and musical fidelity earns praise among discerning audiophiles, positioning it as a go-to for system upgrades without extravagant pricing.
