Audioengine A5 powered desktop speakers for sale. These are the earlier models and not the newer wifi model. Condition is excellent. Full working order. Inputs on these are RCA analog input and 3.5 mm jack input from computer or tv etc. Also an adaptor for iphone or ipad. Comes with power chord, ...
At A$100, this is a strong deal versus the obvious alternative of buying another generic powered bookshelf speaker: it sits just above the A$72 lower quartile and almost exactly on the A$99 median for 62 comparable used listings. That makes the asking price fair-to-good, with genuine value if the pair is working properly and cosmetically presentable.
The A5 is well regarded as an easy, lively all-in-one speaker, with built-in amplification, useful input flexibility, and enough punch for desktop, bedroom, or small-room listening without needing a separate amplifier. The main upside here is simplicity: a complete pair can provide an immediately usable system for A$100. Since condition is unknown, confirm both speakers play cleanly, the powered unit has no hum or intermittent controls, and the included power cable and speaker connection lead are present.

Founded in 2005 in Austin, Texas, Audioengine emerged from the vision of co-founders Brady and Dave, audio industry veterans with decades of experience at Harman, Apple, Gibson Guitars, and Alesis. Frustrated by the complexity and cost of high-quality sound, they launched the original A5 powered speakers that year, pioneering compact systems for direct connection to computers, iPods, and TVs without extra gear. This Texas-based independent company has since upheld a mission to craft hand-tuned products that deliver authentic, premium audio straight out of the box.
Audioengine specializes in powered home music systems, including desktop and bookshelf speakers like the iconic A2 and A5 series, alongside amplifiers, DACs, wireless streamers, turntable accessories, and cables. Their all-in-one designs emphasize simplicity, with built-in amplification, multiple inputs, and high-resolution wireless options for seamless integration across devices from computers to TVs and phones. Handcrafted cabinets house custom woofers and tweeters, prioritizing real-world listening over studio exclusivity.
Positioned as a mid-tier leader in accessible hi-fi, Audioengine earns praise for audiophile-grade performance at reasonable prices, bridging casual listeners and enthusiasts. Neither ultra-high-end nor vintage niche, it dominates the powered speaker market with reliable, no-fuss systems that outperform expectations without breaking the bank, fostering daily music immersion for home, office, or desktop setups.
