Are you looking for a genuinely strong buy in this class? At GBP £3,985, this pair sits above the recent comparable market: the median is GBP £3,191, with the upper quartile at GBP £3,646. That makes the asking price ambitious rather than a bargain, and negotiation would be sensible—ideally toward the mid-GBP £3,000s.
The PWR22 monoblocks are serious, well-regarded power amplifiers, offering substantial control, clean drive and the scale that suits demanding loudspeakers. An immaculate, high-gloss-black pair is appealing, particularly if the cosmetics are genuinely excellent and both amplifiers include their original packaging, mains leads and documentation. At this price, however, condition alone is not enough to justify the premium: confirm service history, quiet operation, matching serials and a proper audition before committing.

Gato Audio emerged from Denmark's storied high-end audio scene, founded in 2008 by Kresten Dinesen and Frederik Johansen, with Rasmus Holm joining as a key developer. The trio brought deep expertise from roles at prestigious Danish firms like Holfi and GamuT Audio, where they honed skills in development, production, and sales.
