This looks like an ambitious ask, not a deal: €350 is well above the €261 75th-percentile asking price in 151 recent comparable listings, and nearly three times the €128 median. “New, boxed” helps, but it does not make €350 attractive against the used market; a much more compelling target would be around €200–€260, depending on warranty and completeness.
The EFFEKT 2 is a worthwhile upgrade for owners of compatible Teufel soundbars and active systems: these are genuinely wireless, active rear speakers with built-in Class-D amplification, straightforward setup, automatic switching, and useful placement flexibility. They can add convincing surround ambience without running speaker cable across the room, and the newer model improves on its predecessor’s output and bass. Before paying a premium, confirm compatibility with the exact Teufel host system, both power cables, and proof of purchase or warranty.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Teufel is a German audio brand with roots in Berlin, where it was founded in 1979 by Carl Teufel. Emerging during the heyday of home hi-fi enthusiasm, the company built its heritage on engineering-driven innovation, initially focusing on custom speaker designs that prioritized precision and dynamic sound reproduction for discerning listeners.
The brand excels in active speakers and soundbars, alongside wireless multi-room systems, headphones, and portable Bluetooth options. While not delving into amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, Teufel emphasizes integrated solutions with built-in amplification and app-controlled streaming, catering to modern home entertainment setups.
Positioned as a mid-tier contender with premium aspirations, Teufel enjoys a strong reputation in Europe for delivering high-value performance—bold bass, spacious imaging, and robust build quality—that punches above its price point. It appeals to knowledgeable buyers seeking reliable, stylish hi-fi without ultra-high-end excess, holding a solid niche in the competitive consumer audio market.
