The PB5 is still a current-generation Osprey design rather than an obviously dated model, so timing is not a concern here. At US$799, it is a strong buy: below the US$825 median and comfortably under the US$877 75th-percentile asking price, though not quite into bargain territory below US$650.
What makes it appealing is the unusually capable hybrid design: dual Nutubes provide the tube-flavored voltage stage, while the solid-state output section delivers up to 1.7W per channel into 32 ohms, with both 4.4mm balanced and 3.5mm outputs. It is known for a weighty, smooth presentation, plenty of drive, and low output impedance suitable even for sensitive IEMs. Confirm that the six internal batteries hold charge and that the original charger and accessories are included; otherwise, this price looks like a worthwhile opportunity.
