This is very much a seller’s market at this asking price: EUR 1,249 is wildly above the used-market benchmarks, with a median of EUR 154, a 75th percentile of EUR 291, and even the upper quartile nowhere near this figure. Unless the listing includes a complete premium system rather than just surround speakers, it is seriously overpriced; the title alone is too vague to justify the premium.
The underlying Bose ecosystem can be appealing: compatible rear speakers connect wirelessly to Bose soundbars, are discreet, easy to integrate, and can add convincing spaciousness to films. But Dolby Atmos comes primarily from the compatible soundbar and its upward-firing drivers, not from ordinary rear surrounds alone. Before considering this listing, verify the exact model, whether the soundbar and bass module are included, the wireless adapters, stands or brackets, remote, packaging, and proof of operation. At EUR 1,249, completeness and near-new condition would need to be exceptional.

Bose Corporation traces its roots to 1964, when MIT professor Amar Gopal Bose founded the company in Natick, Massachusetts, after growing disillusioned with the poor performance of a high-end stereo system he purchased as a graduate student. Driven by a passion for replicating the immersive qualities of live music through rigorous acoustic research, Bose launched the venture with initial contracts for the U.S. military and NASA, emphasizing innovative speaker designs that prioritized indirect, reverberant sound over direct radiation. This American heritage, rooted in psychoacoustics and engineering excellence, has defined the brand's pursuit of "Better Sound Through Research."
Bose excels in consumer and professional audio categories, renowned for its home audio systems, premium speakers like the iconic 901 Series, and pioneering noise-canceling headphones first prototyped in the 1980s for pilots. The lineup extends to vehicle sound systems, portable Bluetooth speakers, and professional installations, but steers clear of niche hi-fi components such as amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, focusing instead on integrated, user-friendly solutions that blend advanced signal processing with spatial audio reproduction.
Positioned as a premium mid-tier powerhouse in the global market, Bose commands widespread appeal among discerning buyers seeking accessible high-performance audio without audiophile esoterica. Its reputation for innovation and reliability has built a loyal following, though purists occasionally critique its measured sound signature, cementing Bose as a dominant force in mainstream hi-fi rather than high-end boutique or vintage realms.
