Notable for its genuinely full-range, four-way open-baffle dipole design, the LX521.4 is an unusual speaker rather than a conventional box. At £4,500, though, this is an ambitious ask: it sits well above the comparable-listing median of £2,514 and beyond the 75th percentile of £3,507. It may still be justified by exceptional build quality or a complete active system, but it is not a typical used-market bargain.
The appeal is substantial: dipole radiation, unusually spacious imaging, and carefully integrated active crossover and amplification can produce an exceptionally transparent, holographic presentation. The key is verifying exactly what is included—PowerBoxes, amplification, crossover hardware, cables, and matching drivers—because “crossover” can describe very different configurations here. At this price, complete, tested electronics and excellent cosmetic condition are essential; otherwise, negotiation toward the established used range would be sensible.
