“Working condition” is encouraging, but the otherwise unknown condition keeps this from being an automatic buy. At USD 120, it sits well above the 21-listing median of USD 59, though still below the USD 137 75th percentile. That makes it a somewhat strong ask rather than a bargain; fair value depends heavily on cosmetic condition, accessories, and reliable operation of both outputs.
The MoonRiver 2 remains a very capable pocket DAC/amp, with clean conversion, physical volume control, gain settings, and useful 3.5mm single-ended plus 4.4mm balanced outputs. Its balanced output offers considerably more drive, making it especially appealing for demanding headphones or as a compact desktop source. Before paying USD 120, confirm USB connectivity, channel balance, buttons, and both headphone sockets, and check whether the original cables and case are included.

Moondrop emerged in 2015 from Chengdu Shuiyueyu Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese firm founded by a team of audio engineers passionate about high-fidelity sound. Rooted in the burgeoning Chi-Fi scene, the brand quickly distinguished itself through industrial design, technological innovation, and collaborations with research labs, blending artistry with acoustic precision to challenge established norms in personal audio.
The company specializes in portable audio gear, with a core focus on in-ear monitors (IEMs), earphones featuring dynamic drivers and balanced armatures, earbuds, and custom models. It has expanded into headphones, digital DAC/AMP units, smart audio equipment, and even ACGN-themed accessories, while maintaining a reputation for software integration and consistent tuning aligned with the Harman target curve for broad appeal.
Moondrop holds a commanding position as Chi-Fi's most successful IEM maker, excelling in the mid-tier market with exceptional value—delivering neutral, detailed sound that rivals pricier rivals without compromising quality. Its consistency, aggressive pricing, and cult following among enthusiasts solidify it as a go-to for discerning buyers seeking performance over prestige.
