Seller's Description

GoldenEar Technology Triton One Floorstanding Loudspeakers Hi all.   Bought these GoldenEar Tritons new in 2015. They are lovely articulate speakers, receiving very positive reviews. They are in excellent working condition. The Tritons have a 1600watt sub in the base of each speaker obviating the need for a discrete sub. There are some minor, hardly noticeable scuff marks on the bases and the connectors have some very minor corrosion on the outside - nothing that affects cable connection.  See pics.   I am downsizing as the system is underutilized and my wife, its greatest user, prefers a simp

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

At A$3,300, this is below the Triton One’s original A$5,000-ish per-pair launch price, and for a flagship GoldenEar tower in excellent condition it reads as fair-to-good value rather than a stretch. It’s not a screaming bargain, but it’s comfortably in the buy zone if local used pricing is tracking roughly around the low-to-mid A$3,000s for clean examples.

The appeal is the usual Triton One magic: big, room-filling scale, very open treble from the folded-ribbon tweeter, and genuinely deep, controlled bass from the built-in powered section, all with easy drive requirements. If the amps, drivers, and bass section are healthy, this is still a lot of speaker for the money. For a listing like this, I’d mainly want confirmation that both cabinets are immaculate, the powered bass modules are quiet, and the original feet/spikes and grille set are included.

About GoldenEar Technology

GoldenEar Technology emerged in the summer of 2010 when Sandy Gross, a veteran audio engineer and co-founder of acclaimed speaker brands like Polk Audio and Definitive Technology, launched the company in the United States. Partnering with his wife Anne Conaway and former colleague Don Givogue, Gross sought to build on decades of innovation, prioritizing revolutionary engineering alongside sonic excellence, elegant design, and accessible value.

The brand specializes exclusively in loudspeakers, offering a diverse lineup from compact bookshelf models to towering floorstanders like the Triton series, alongside powered towers and sophisticated subwoofers optimized for both stereo and home theater setups. This focused portfolio avoids diversification into amplifiers, DACs, turntables, headphones, or cables, emphasizing instead high-performance drivers and proprietary technologies for immersive, full-range sound.

GoldenEar occupies a premium mid-tier position in the hi-fi market, celebrated for delivering reference-level performance at prices that undercut true high-end competitors, appealing to discerning buyers through specialty dealers and custom installers. Its reputation for superb value and engineering breakthroughs has solidified its status among knowledgeable audiophiles, with recent acquisition by PML Sound International in 2025 ensuring continued evolution under a banner of shared innovation.
