Linn Ekos Mk 2 Tonearm Very late model Ekos Mk 2, serial 9333, silver dot. (note - not an upgraded Mk1) Comes in original box, and includes Linn tone arm cable. Looking at the global market (check out hifishark), I believe this Ekos Mk 2 is priced very reasonably. As background, I purchased from Peter Swain / Cymbiosis in the UK. Peter travelled to Australia, and fitted this tonearm to my LP12 along with a number of other upgrades. Photos show a Dynavector DV-20X2 fitted. The cartridge is not included in the current price. I am good to offer this cartridge at 1/3 of average Aust
The Ekos tonearm—not cartridge—is a legendary Linn design that's held its value well over decades. At AUD $2,300 for a used example, you're looking at a fair-to-firm asking price. Recent secondhand Ekos Mark 2 units have moved in the AUD $1,400–$1,600 range, so this listing sits above typical market but not outlandish if the condition is genuinely excellent and the arm includes the original tonearm cable. Without knowing whether this is a Mark 1, Mark 2, or the later SE variant, pricing becomes harder to pin down—the SE commands a premium. Check the serial number against Linn's records to confirm the generation and any factory upgrades.
Before committing, verify that both bearing assemblies (vertical and horizontal) move freely with zero play or grinding—these are the critical wear points after 20+ years. Confirm the original cable is included and undamaged; replacements are pricey. Ask whether the arm has been serviced recently or if it's original. If it's a Mark 1 upgraded to Mark 2 spec at the factory, that's a plus; if it's original Mark 1, factor in potential service costs. Get detailed photos of the bearing wells and the underside of the armtube for cracks or corrosion.

Linn Products: Brand Overview
Linn Products was founded in 1973 by Scottish engineer Ivor Tiefenbrun in Glasgow as a vehicle to manufacture the Sondek LP12 turntable, which would become the company's most iconic product and a cornerstone of high-fidelity audio. The brand emerged during the golden era of British hi-fi with a revolutionary "source first" philosophy—challenging the prevailing industry belief that loudspeakers mattered most by demonstrating that superior sound quality begins with the audio source. This foundational principle has guided the company's engineering ethos for over five decades.
Linn's product portfolio spans the complete hi-fi chain, from turntables and tonearms to preamplifiers, power amplifiers, and loudspeakers. The company introduced the world's first microprocessor-controlled preamplifier and power amplifier in 1985 (the LK1 and LK2), establishing itself as an electronics specialist. From 2007 onward, Linn pivoted toward digital music streaming, becoming an early adopter of network-based audio playback supporting studio master-quality recordings at 24-bit/192 kHz resolution, and discontinued CD player production in 2009 to focus on this strategic direction.
Linn occupies the high-end segment of the audio market, commanding respect among discerning audiophiles and collectors for its uncompromising engineering approach and longevity. The brand's reputation rests on meticulous product design, acoustic isolation principles, and a commitment to eliminating weak links in the signal chain—a philosophy that has made Linn one of the most influential manufacturers in hi-fi history and a benchmark for quality-focused audio engineering.
