Neumann’s KH sub line is well regarded for compact, studio-friendly bass extension and clean integration with nearfields, so it’s the kind of piece that tends to hold appeal in serious monitoring setups. At €999, this sits well above the €762 75th percentile and is clearly ambitious versus your recent used EUR comps, even though the listed excellent condition helps.
The upside here is performance: tight, controlled low end, respectable output for the size, and the Neumann badge usually means straightforward matching with pro-grade monitors. If the unit is truly excellent and includes the right power/cables, it can still make sense for a buyer who wants a known, low-drama sub; just don’t expect it to be a value play at this level.

Neumann traces its origins to Berlin, Germany, where Georg Neumann and Erich Rickmann founded the company in 1928. Initially focused on pioneering condenser microphones, such as the groundbreaking CMV 3—nicknamed "The Bottle"—Neumann quickly established itself as an innovator amid the early days of professional audio. Despite wartime disruptions that split production and led to the creation of Microtech Gefell, Georg Neumann rebuilt in post-war Berlin, launching the iconic U 47 tube-condenser microphone, which solidified the brand's legacy in recording history.
The brand specializes in professional recording equipment, renowned for its high-end condenser microphones like the U 47, U 67, and U 87, which dominate studios worldwide. Beyond mics, Neumann produces studio monitors, headphones, preamplifiers, audio interfaces such as the recent MT 48, and historically excelled in cutting lathes for mastering. This pro-audio emphasis sets it apart from consumer hi-fi categories like amplifiers, turntables, or cables.
Neumann commands an elite position in the market as the gold standard for professional recording, embodying precision engineering and unmatched fidelity prized by engineers and producers. Its products grace legendary sessions, blending vintage reverence with modern reliability, making it essential for discerning hi-fi enthusiasts seeking studio-grade accuracy rather than mid-tier or boutique consumer gear.
