At £55, this sits well below the recent used-market median of £241 and even under the 25th percentile at £113, so it reads as a strong bargain rather than a merely fair buy. For a 4-channel headphone mixer, that’s a sensible price if you need simple, reliable distribution for rehearsals, tracking, or a compact studio rig.
These units are valued for straightforward zero-fuss monitoring: multiple headphone feeds, basic level control, and dependable utility without much to go wrong. At this price, the real upside is usability-per-pound, provided it’s clean, powers up properly, and all channels work quietly; if the PSU is included, that strengthens the deal further.

Matrix Audio traces its roots to Xi'an, China, where three high school classmates bonded over music and audio tinkering in the early 2000s. Their passion led to building homemade speakers during a 2001 summer holiday, evolving into formal collaboration after university in 2006 with the debut of the groundbreaking DAC DA-100Plus. The brand was officially registered in 2013 under Matrix Electronic Technology Co., LTD, embodying the founders' vision of balancing sonic precision and aesthetic harmony—reflected in the "matrix" name, drawn from mathematics, and their slogan "Into The Music."
The company specializes in high-performance digital audio source devices, starting with DACs and headphone amplifiers like the best-selling mini-i series. From 2016, they expanded into streaming solutions with companion apps, and by 2018 introduced integrated music streamers featuring power amplification, quad-core processors, and MA Player software. Today, their lineup emphasizes all-in-one Hi-Fi components that blend research, design, and manufacturing in-house, prioritizing seamless integration into modern homes.
Matrix Audio holds a strong position as a mid-to-high-end contender, prized for exceptional value, engineering excellence, and user-friendly execution that rivals legacy brands. Globally recognized for sound quality, build, and minimalist design, it appeals to discerning enthusiasts seeking complete digital ecosystems without complexity, earning acclaim from audiophiles worldwide.
