Against 66 recent comparable listings, the median is £233, with the upper quartile at £337. At £1,020, this is exceptionally ambitious rather than merely strong money—roughly three times the 75th-percentile asking price. Unless this is a genuinely rare, complete example with unusually strong provenance, it looks far beyond the normal used-market bracket.
The D17 Atheris is an interesting, well-regarded transportable DAC/headphone amp: its fully balanced discrete R2R and 1-bit paths offer distinct flavours, while the dual Nutube stage adds appealing warmth and colour. It also has serious balanced output power and flexible digital inputs. Those features make it desirable, but not enough to justify this ask against the supplied comparables; a buyer should negotiate very hard or wait for a listing closer to the established market range.
