Excellent condition at €1,990 makes this a genuine bargain: it sits well below the €2,483 25th-percentile comparable and far under the €2,898 median. For a clean ASR Emitter 1 Plus, that is unusually attractive used pricing rather than merely fair value.
The Emitter 1 Plus is prized for its authority, current delivery, and unusually controlled presentation, with a substantial separate power supply and the grip to handle difficult speakers confidently. Its relay-stepped volume control, flexible input sensitivity, and generous power make it a serious long-term integrated amplifier. Confirm that the power-supply unit, interconnect cable, remote, and any fitted phono or other option boards are included; otherwise, this looks like the sort of listing worth pursuing promptly.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
ASR Audio Systems, based in Herborn, Germany, traces its roots to 1980 when Friedrich Schäfer founded the company, initially as ASR Audio Systeme Friedrich Schäfer. Schäfer, who remains the owner and chief designer, established the brand with a focus on meticulous engineering from the outset. By 1995, it had solidified under its current name, building a heritage of handcrafted components that prioritize sonic purity and longevity.
The brand specializes in high-end amplifiers, including iconic models like the Emitter I and II, which continue to anchor its catalog decades later. ASR's lineup emphasizes power amplifiers and integrated solutions known for their robust construction and dynamic performance, eschewing broader categories such as speakers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables.
ASR holds a revered position in the high-end hi-fi market as a niche boutique manufacturer, celebrated among audiophiles for exceptional sound characteristics and technical excellence. Its products command loyalty from discerning buyers seeking uncolored, impactful reproduction, often drawing comparisons to top-tier systems in showrooms worldwide.
