The ASR Emitter 1 Plus is a notably serious two-chassis integrated amplifier, and at €2,490 it looks like a strong deal rather than merely fair value. That asking price sits just above the €2,483 25th percentile and well below the €2,898 median from six recent comparable listings, making it one of the more attractive entry points into the model.
Its appeal is substantial power, exceptionally low output impedance, and the separate power supply’s effective isolation of the audio circuitry. The Emitter is known for firm, controlled bass, transparency, and an unusually organic presentation, while its configurable inputs, gain settings, energy modes, and remote add practical flexibility. With excellent condition stated, this is a buying opportunity; simply confirm that both chassis, the correct interconnect, remote, and any fitted options are included.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
ASR Audio Systems, based in Herborn, Germany, traces its roots to 1980 when Friedrich Schäfer founded the company, initially as ASR Audio Systeme Friedrich Schäfer. Schäfer, who remains the owner and chief designer, established the brand with a focus on meticulous engineering from the outset. By 1995, it had solidified under its current name, building a heritage of handcrafted components that prioritize sonic purity and longevity.
The brand specializes in high-end amplifiers, including iconic models like the Emitter I and II, which continue to anchor its catalog decades later. ASR's lineup emphasizes power amplifiers and integrated solutions known for their robust construction and dynamic performance, eschewing broader categories such as speakers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables.
ASR holds a revered position in the high-end hi-fi market as a niche boutique manufacturer, celebrated among audiophiles for exceptional sound characteristics and technical excellence. Its products command loyalty from discerning buyers seeking uncolored, impactful reproduction, often drawing comparisons to top-tier systems in showrooms worldwide.
